On June 20, 2016, Canada’s Minister of Finance Bill Morneau and seven provincial counterparts signed an agreement in principle (Manitoba joined the other provinces in signing on July 7) to amend the Canada Pension Plan (CPP), which would take effect January 1, 2019.
